Dean Woodley Ball is an AI policy expert who joined OpenAI in July 2026 to lead its new Strategic Futures team shaping frontier AI policy, having previously served as senior policy advisor at the White House OSTP where he was primary author of America's AI Action Plan. He authors the Hyperdimensional Substack and was a senior fellow at the Foundation for American Innovation.
