Beth Barnes is the founder and CEO of METR (Model Evaluation and Threat Research), a nonprofit that evaluates frontier AI models' capabilities on long-horizon agentic tasks; she previously worked on AI alignment at OpenAI and DeepMind and started the org as ARC Evals before it became independent. She was named to TIME's 100 Most Influential People in AI in 2024.
