Born in Jordan, moved to the US to work on developer tools at Codecademy and then Facebook, and founded Replit in 2016 on the idea that a browser tab should be enough to write and ship software. Replit Agent (2024) turned that into agentic coding, and Agent 4 will build a startup from a plain-English description. A $400M Series D led by Georgian in March 2026 tripled the company to a $9B valuation on more than 50 million registered users, with Masad targeting $1B ARR by year end. Outspoken about education: his argument is that young people should learn to direct machines rather than compete with them.
